History of the Awards ...
The Czech poet and acclaimed film critic Andrej Stankovič decided to be awarding his own private Czech film price publically together with his associates annually from 1999 to the "a outstanding but overlooked film by the mainstream and vulgered official mainstream criticism or to a creative effort from national film area not only from its industrial system.
Andrej Stankovič was very critical about the system of the cultural field after so called velvet revolution which he called "a plushy". Particularly he was critical about the national audiovision. Such his voice and reflexion was practically experienced from his own status of the head of the State Fund for the Support and Progressivity of Czech Film - from 1993, later he was regural voting member of this commitee. During the time he was a leading personality of the grant system under Ministry of the Czech Culture and still was among the best film critics watching closely the bad behavioures in this systems. It was a founding point of the Ward of the Appointed Ones from 1999.

navazují na tradici Cen samozvanců, udělovaných po tři roky básníkem a kritikem Andrejem Stankovičem mimořádnému tvůrčímu počinu v oblasti kinematografie. Cenu po smrti Andreje Stankoviče od roku 2003 uděluje skupina stoupenců jeho kritických intencí - Samozvanci. Akce se koná ve spolupráci s kinem PONREPO a Národní filmovým archívem
