PRAGUESPRINGFESTIVAL 18.-20. 10. 2019
PRAGUESPRINGFESTIVAL is an international film festival taking place in Prague 17.-20. 10. 2019 following the tradition of awarding by so called the Self-appointed Ones from 1999 by the poet and film critic Andrej Stankovič. The reason for it was to try to form a public relation and award for "a outstanding but by the mainstream and vulgered official mainstream criticism overlooked film or creative effort in national film area of any country (also through their our own social or official distribution/media system)". Our task of the festival PSF is to present such efforts from abroad and announce the main price to be given to the festival´s best. The singular part of the festival is the screening of each chosen fine and less promoted film or any progressive high profile film activity by artists and nominated ones (selected and recommended by foreing bohemists, film critics or personalities spiritually standing close to Stankovič´s critical thoughts, anti-totalitarian activism and who are openminded selective eye themselves standing outside of the mainstream, and who are showing the world of different standards, other world than full of consumerism and easy entertainement. But mainly festival tries to support those who stood against the ideologies as dangerous prototypes also in the well known film award businesses, and above all in film industries or even independant film productions driven by the sum of its markets. In particular the festival wants to be driven by the example of the such exemplar personalities from former Czechoslovakian film scene involved thru their art also in the Czech Spring of 1968 as film directors namely Ester Krumbachová, Jan Němec, Karel Vachek, Jiří Toman, Miroslav Štěpánek or Václav Mergl among a few others who were awarded by Czech Andrej´Nikolaj´Stankovič´s Film Award during its history or will be awarded by it in the future.
The organizer of PSF 2019 2015 is Martin Fišer (Štítného 17, 13000, Praha 3).
PDF 2019 will take place from October 17 - 20, 2019 in Prague, in the prestigious spaces of Palace Lucerna Prague.
The deadline for entries of films in the competition at PRAGUESPRINGFESTIVAL 2019 is September 6, 2019. Films are entered by submitting a properly completed festival application or in straight communication with the organzers. Submission means the date of delivery of a fully and correctly completed application, including all required enclosures and the submitted film. Only works created after January 1, 1999 and which have not been screened at previous years of the PRAGUESPRINGFESTIVAL 2019 may be included in the competition sections. The length and genre are unrestricted, and neither is the number of films submitted from one participant. The condition is that the film represents a theme consistent with the themes of the competition. Submissions must be delivered to the selection committee in English or with English subtitles or with an English dialogue list. The ideal delivery method is an electronic link with the password for access to the film stored on the producer's storage location, through an Internet site for sharing videos (YouTube, Vimeo, ...), or possibly through a public data storage site (Dropbox, ...). Naturally, it is also possible to deliver the film by mail, on a DVD or flash drive in a standard digital format.
Submitted films will be evaluated by a professional selection committee, which will decide by majority vote on the inclusion of films in the festival competition by September 6, 2019. In the event that a film will be selected for the competition section, the applicant will be immediately notified of this fact and asked to send festival copies of the film in the maximum quality suitable for festival screening, but only in the case that the submitted film has not already been sent for evaluation by the selection committee in this quality.
