Lucerna Palace (Roof, Gallery, Private Club Koníček)

The part of the festival based in Prague uses a traditional space of the centre point of the Czech film industry - Lucerna . The programme of our event this year offers the unique collection of audiovisual achievements and discussions with the important personalities also from abroad. The attraction of less known, used but magical place in Lucerna Palace its Roof, Gallery and Private Club Koníček is even more attractive when our festival is free of chargé mostly, although due to its capacity there are limited chances. That´s why we recommend you to buy the special VIP Passes (for a day or for whole festival). It allows you to have an advatage of entrance, comfortable seat and small refreshment.  And of course good spirit for helping us to manage project for the general satisfaction. Friday the 18th Oct. 2019 

The 1st day will offer the screenings for the students from the schools in Prague, some meetings with the film authors, later the festival opening in the afternoon will start a collection of four screenings of the movies in the competition complemented with the discussions of the filmmakers and the bohemist. All Friday programme takes place on the Roof of Lucerny with limited and restrected capacity.

Feral (CZ 2018)

SCREENING - The Czech documentary film in the competition is made and presented by its director Jiří Holba and main hero of it - leading person of the Czech underground in exileen-Charlie Soukup  Film was awarded by Cena Andreje ´Nikolaj´ Stankoviče 2019. The host is its jury head and member - the famed film critic Vladimír Hendrich.

Good Death (SK 2018)

SCREENING - The Slovak documentary film in the competition with its presentation and discussion about a theme of euthanasia - DP Ondřej Szollos, sociologist Fedor Gál and collegue director Zuzana Piussi.

SHKID (E 2019-2020)

SCREENING PRESENTATION of the work in progress on the film project by Spanish director Fernando Cortízo about the kids imprisoned in Terezin during WW2 but who were making their secred magazine. The author was nominated for Oscar for his previous animated O APOSTOLO) and the new vision can bring some promising results. The meeting will be also about the possible collaboration of the Czech animators under the help of bohemist Kateřina Vlasáková and Patricia Ortiz Martinéz.

SCREENING - A Polish feature film experiment is selected also by bohemist Andzej Jagodzinski, here presented by jury member Piotr Kotowski and Norbert Rudzik (editor, superviser special effects, ...)

SCREENING - A Hungarian documentary of work by film and theatre director Dóra Elek ans the bohemist István Vörös in persons.

SCREENING - A documentary essey by directors Emma Davie and Peter Mettler which was selected and foreworded by philosopher John Zerzan and movie´s co-director Peter Mettler (videoconference, from the USA) presented by Emma Davie in person. 

Sunday the 20th Oct. 2019 

The last day of the festival offers the rest of the achievements in the competition and its discussions. The evening of the final ceremony, awarding and musical surprise is also the invitation to come again next year thru the the outstanding and collaborating fellows.

SCREENING of a German ethical drama in competiton and explaining of its nomination by artist and writer René Böll.

Allied by Affinities

Film director Karel Vachek will show the excerpts from his legendary Allied Affinities (1968) about the key moments and legacy of the Czech but also World history (1968, 1977, 1989, ...). The following discussion is confirmed by philosopher Miroslav Petříček, economy historian Miroslav Tejklfounder of SOK - Association for a Left Theory, philosopher Michael Hauser and of course other guest. The gathering will be hosted by Karel Král (SAD).

Awarding Finale

Final awarding of the competition and public voting for the best presentation is presented by Ivan M. Havel and René Böll. The Tony Gondolan´s Trio´s concert and festival afterparty follows. Trio Gondolan (CZ)

Grand Finale with a Special - Gypsy jazz double bass player and music composer Tony Gondolán collaborating for example with Karel Gott, Karel Růžička Sr. and nearly all Czech jazz scene members or even in film by Jiří Menzel, Jan Němec, Ján Roháč. Together they recorded numerous albums and made many performances from 1960-2019. TICKETS

Private Club Koníček

Private Club Koníček offers the exclusive 2nd screenings without the discussion, final press meeting, the winning movie screening and the special gathering with the guest of the festival. The last screening will be the awarded film receiving the main festivalovou recognition.
